Platte County Community Center South

Platte County and the YMCA invested in a healthy relationship by partnering together in 2002 to build two community centers in the county. Platte County Community Center South, located in Parkville, is currently the largest center is the Kansas City metro area, serving over 10,000 individuals.  Membership at the center includes access to all Kansas City metro YMCAs.

The center features a wellness center, a full indoor gym, a 1/8 mile suspended walking track, an indoor aquatics center featuring three lap lanes, a lazy river, a vortex, dry sauna, steam room, kids adventure center, indoor & outdoor playground areas, a generational center, party room and locker rooms. Platte County Community Center South also hosts several community events, including a summer Block Party, Boo Bash and Kids’ Night out.
